Yes, it’s wonderful to share gifts of home preserved foods during the holidays, but it’s even better when those gifts are eaten as part of a delicious meal. In addition to giving edible gifts, share recipes and meal suggestions on how to use the food you lovingly prepared.
The UCCE Master Food Preservers of Sacramento County present an inspiring two-hour event featuring some of their favorite preserved food gifts and recipes that use them. Learn the researched-based preserving process used to make these gifts. Giving a jar of homemade pomegranate jelly? There’s so many ways to use it that don’t involve toast! Come and see how a small basket of preserved foods can grow into a full meal, including ingredients for salad, side dishes, meats or vegetarian main dishes, and dessert.
$5 materials fee payable at the door, no reservations required.
